Introducing the Esporta Wash System. The Esporta Wash System is the disaster restoration industry’s only wet wash machine designed from the ground up to recover “soft contents” from fire and water damage. The system is used to restore contents to pre-loss condition that were previously deemed “unsalvageable.” The Esporta differs from conventional front-loading and top loading washing machines by using hydraulic action and patented ‘safe hold’ technology to hold contents in place during the wash cycles. Our specially designed detergents get to the root of the problem by degrading organic and non-organic contaminants and not the fibers of the contents.
Why are these important? 85 percent of soft contents previously deemed unsalvageable can be saved saving an average of $4700 per claim and can generally be returned to the homeowner within 72 hrs saving insurance companies millions in replacement costs and significantly increasing revenue. According to the CCRN (Certified Contents Restoration Network) our homes are made up of about 25-35 percent soft contents including clothes, bedding, stuffed toys, and shoes. The Esporta is equipped to wash almost anything that can fit! Most items previously not cleaned by conventional washing are restored to pre-loss condition! Leathers, (coats, purses and wallets) shoes/boots, sports equipments (hockey, football pads and helmets) camping and survival gear (tents, life jackets) and patio cushions, Fire fighting/ police/ HAZMAT suits and equipment.
One main reason soft contents are unsalvageable in fire and water damages is the odor and bacteria level found in such items. A comforter in a sewage loss rated 6000RLU (the unit in which bacteria is measured) after being restored in the Esporta, rated 10 RLU! To put that in perspective, surfaces with residual bacteria of under 10 RLU are considered food grade and medical grade sanitized! Our certified technicians use an ATP sampling systems to determine the RLU before and after the items are washed.
The four wash stages work collectively to eliminate bacteria, odors and harmful contaminants in the fabric. With the hydraulic action and detergents used, the degradation to the fabrics is minimal. The detergents include an enzymatic cleaner to break down protein oils such as fungi, blood and sweat and it also destroys the food source of pathogenic bacteria. The powerful disinfectant contains peroxyacetic acid and other oxygen based cleaning agents which have proven effective in killing all bacteria, viruses, and mold spores with 97.7777 percent efficacy.
